Community principles
MergeCrew is built on trust, professionalism and safety. We expect respectful communication and compliance with applicable laws. Discrimination, harassment, threats and hate speech are not tolerated.
Authentic identity and transparency
- Create profiles under your own name or brand; do not impersonate others.
- Disclose conflicts of interest and affiliations when posting jobs or reviews.
- Do not create mass/fake accounts or sell/transfer accounts.
Job and offer requirements
- Provide accurate descriptions, rate ranges, location/remote conditions.
- “Cash-in-hand” jobs, unpaid internships (except where legally permitted as education), MLM/pyramid schemes and data-harvesting scams are prohibited.
- Prohibited tasks include hacking, phishing, deepfake manipulation, bypassing AI detectors and doing students’ graded homework or exams.
- Discriminatory criteria that violate employment or anti-discrimination law are not allowed.
User conduct: what is prohibited
- Abuse, harassment, threats, dissemination of shocking or explicit content.
- Spam, review manipulation, fake deals and self-reviewing.
- Doxing: publishing others’ personal data without consent.
- Attempts to circumvent platform fees in an active deal or to bypass moderation measures.
Security and technical restrictions
- Scraping, mass extraction/resale of data, reverse engineering.
- Unauthorised bots/automation, DDoS, exploiting vulnerabilities.
- Malware, phishing schemes, harmful attachments or links.
Off-platform payments/communications
We do not prohibit exchanging contact details after a match, but bypassing platform fees in an active deal is not allowed. Keep key artefacts (requirements, deliverables, releases) in the deal chat to protect both parties in case of disputes.
Reviews and conflicts of interest
Only leave reviews based on real experience. Disclose affiliations. Quid-pro-quo reviews and pressure for positive reviews are prohibited.
Enforcement and appeals
Enforcement is applied progressively: warning → hiding/removal of content → feature restrictions → account suspension → holding funds in escrow during disputes. You can appeal via in-product forms. Repeat violations may lead to permanent bans.
DSA Notice & Action (EU)
You can notify us of illegal content or IP infringement via our Notice & Action form. We will issue a Statement of Reasons and provide information on how to contest the decision. Notices from trusted flaggers are processed with priority.
